For his part Trump an autocrat is no slouch either when it comes to meting out attacks and plotting revenge on his opponents and critics. If you're Liz Cheney, Lisa Murkowski, Gov. Brian Kemp, or Brad Raffensperger, even Mitch McConnell, you will not be spared all manner of threats and attacks. Trump is using all his influence and power to purge and remove every one of these people from the party (his party now) for having crossed him in some way as to be disloyal. Dissent is always ruthlessly criminalized and punished.
I’m not sure if it’s me, the news, the insanity of Majorie Taylor Green or a combination of all three, but today’s post just filled me with more dread than usual. The fact that a commercial airliner was forced down because some dictator was upset, contravenes so many laws, it’s unreal. Ruth, you do a great job of crystallizing information and putting an historical context to it all. I wish that people could view your videos as much as they view Pewdiepie or some other gamer/influencer. Your information is so much more vital. I somehow feel you’re going to need to release Strongman Part Deux - The Fascist Takeover of the USA on January 6, 2025. It sure seems things are spinning out of control.
My long considered suitable response is to 'attack the assets ' of all perpetrators . So many, particularly ,Lukashenko , must be put under such 'pressure' by all legitimate Governments World Wide. They are nothing less than Political criminals supported by thugs of similar disposition.
I guess all dictators are sick people who need help... they are harming themselves and A LOT of people around them... In order to start that process, we need to at least let them express what their vision of an ideal world is? Then maybe we can gently get them to admit more liberal ideas, starting with their own version.
As I was reading, I was also reminded of the 600 Chinese nationals who have been abducted in what is now being termed (as you know) transnational repression. I can't imagine what it's like to live in fear like that. I know of American parents who have adopted Chinese children and the Chinese government still considers them Chinese nationals even if they have American citizenship. sorry...I'm going off topic here. I just feel we take a lot of things for granted living our lives in freedom and are able to express our opinions and views without the fear of repressive measures. Thanks for writing this.
