Thank you for doing this. Subscribing was a no brained. Came to what was happening late as I am now 78. Started hearing about fake news and after doing some research, I realized the election was about saving our democracy. Then I found Ruth’s book which confirmed all that I was feeling. Cried through most of it. Will always be grateful to your book. My husband is a casualty of Trump and Fox News and he thinks I have gone crazy. I want to do whatever I can to save our democracy.
Is there a place within Lucid for us to write out information to share or have sub discussions? (Does it happen right here in these replies?) I keep circling around managing the firehose of falsehoods, how to put the power back in our hands with helping people with their words and their replies. Stamping out the lies has such a demoralizing effect.
What's our version of jumping out ahead and controlling the narrative (ex: how do we cancel "Cancel Culture" ) Statements of positive democracy?
Lincoln Project had a nice short video within one of their "TV" shows tonight with string of the GOP'ers using "cancel culture" in quotes to illustrate how the GOP victimhood card gets played clearly and how carefully orchestrated the narrative is...
What options do we have if, in 2022 and/or 2024, American voters select Democratic candidates for various state and national offices BUT Republican legislatures step in and invalidate those electoral results so that they can replace the Dem with a Republican? Lawsuits are futile because the GOP will just replace whatever people will not accede to their power grab as almost happened when Assistant AG Clark told Trump to replace Acting AG Rosen last November. DO we need to fight another civil war to stop this crap once and for all?
I joined Lucid about three months into it. I've been on a few of the zoom meetings and they are like a salve for the wounded. I appreciate what you do and as I mentioned before, I thought Strongmen was terrific. I'm overseas visiting my daughter and set an alarm hoping to join in on a zoom meeting, but it wasn't possible. I decided to start at the beginning of your posts and read through as many as I can. As we seem to veer closer to authoritarianism, it becomes more unnerving. I'm in Germany now and the elections were yesterday. It will be interesting to see what happens with the dust settles and what coalitions are formed here. Thank you for all you do. I appreciate it very much.

how to have a cordial Thanksgiving with members of your family that are anti vax, Q' and conspiracists? you can't. the curtain is torn. we've chosen our sides. it doesn't mean you hate them, you just can't ever be anywhere near them if you value peace.
Got the audible version of your book Strongmen. Regrettably the narrator seems somewhat detached and lifeless in the reading. The need to pause or create emphasis at key points verbally is often missing. Your work is far too important. I
have struggled to stay focused while listening and even followed along on kindle version. Please consider a personal author narration.
Enjoy your writing. Book is good but also scary. The similarities to the past authoritarians is frightening and a necessary catalyst for our citizens who wish to keep our republic a democracy
