His brand when someone else does it for him and he doesn’t have to dirty his little fingers. For the rest of us his brand is bone spurs and lies.

Don’t forget the “bone spurs” were lies to begin with. He had no medical condition that would have prevented him from serving during the VN war, like I and a million others did. He has always been a mental midget, if he actually has an IQ higher than room temperature the whole world would be surprised. If he was a normal person he would be pathetic, but he’s not normal and he’s despicable.

Matt Gaetz: Groomer for Violence. Also auditioning for a hoped for cabinet post. Do we know if Trump has ever actually owned and/or fired a gun?

I would think so his sons like to hunt 🤷‍♂️

Good point, though I couldn't recall ever seeing him with one.

Trump has probably never fired a gun imo. He can barely lift a glass of water to his mouth and he probably cant even drive a car! Like the professor said, everything he does is performative. Remember how he held that bible?

We can only hope that the moderates and independents are seeing this fascism for what it is and they do the right thing in November 2024. The media seems to be lapping it up like it’s Taylor Swift at a Chiefs game so it’s up to the individual voter to trust their eyes and ears and understand what he is planning to do. For the life of me, I will never under why anyone would ever want to live in an authoritarian society. It is not safe for anyone.

Katie, please keep foremost in mind the power of the recent youth and womens' vote in Ohio, and Wisconsin, and previously in Kansas and Kentucky - ALL of these were votes for reproductive freedom. Or, I should say, WOMENS' FREEDOM and mens freedom, too!

Im not delusional in thikning we will win OH and KY, but I am CERTAIN that Biden and Dems will win the Senate and House, depite long odds with 3 Dem Senator ... because of the movement led by youth and women. HOW do I know this ....?

Let's watch this upcoming Virginia vote, for their state delegation ....

Oh I love that talk, facts and hope combine a winning team story!

It’s exciting to see the gains steadily turning more and more blue. I truly believe the 40%> is better than that guestimate. And I am excited to see the Virginia tally. I put my money where my mouth goes first day.

Thanks y’all.

Unfortunately, there is a massive lack of understanding of fascism in this country, especially on the right. Those Independents that have become disillusioned from their GOP roots, surely don't understand fascism. Those that don't understand fascism seem to embrace it.

How insane is it that many supporters of this fascist movement want less government intrusion into their lives! Have they never heard of Mussolini ?

Trump supporters would abandon democracy and accept fascism so that they could have a safer border. Sick!

All of what you say, Ruth, is true and you're a national treasure. But Trumpsters don't read your letters or watch you on MSNBC. They watch only Fox and what they see is very bad for President Joe Biden...the immigration issue, he's old and infirm (they just love to show him missing a step on a staircase), he's dishonest (yesterday, they said that $250,000 from China was sent to Joe's home), the deficit of $33 trillion is his fault...etc. How do we get to those Trump fans to get them to see the truth about him and get at least SOME of them to change their minds? I'm hoping that you and the other smart folks at The Lincoln Project can find a way to get to these people...and it's going to take some convincing. They love this guy...as horrible as he is.

trump folks are at best 35% of the voting population. We do NOT need their vote to win 2024.

We need to keep organizing with the other 65% of the population.

Toxicity and cancer may now be closely identified with the GOP and everything it touches. Toxic and cancerous, as you know now

You’re right Michael. They project in repetitive waves what they want their base to think, and by golly they do! Mimics, Mirrors, and constant crisis created , they cherish chaos.

But back in the shop Biden bewilders us , his dance of delivering is as smooth as Fred Astaire’s . It’s as classy , as it is classic. It’s a pace few appreciate in stamina talk. A staff that prepares him , no wasting time on what ifs..I applaud them too. I’m a behind the scenes player, the credits that roll breakneck speed never give them their due, it takes incredible focus ,togetherness , and thorough understanding of each leading character’s role.

Y’all are Awesome White House Staff Team! 👏🫶

And Menendez...every time I write his name the en signifies enough enough MenoughNenoughDez or something like that....🤦‍♀️

Come on Dems ....let’s show how this is handled on our ranch....🗣️and yer OUT!👉

I’m housesitting today, sorta a day off from my 👨‍🌾 farmer duties, am tending their critters , a fall day in rural WV crickets chirping , sun keeping it warm enough. So I’m lolling a bit, relishing the rare relax.

I hope you have these days once in a while too😌

You have one reference that is reflective of our need to pull out an overwhelming number of younger voters, Fred Astaire. Any of us who know who Fred Astaire is are definitely 65 and above. We need overwhelming numbers of the 65 and under voters to come out for Democrats and Democrat values and ideas. Also, we Democrats need to get loud and confront the lies, lawlessness and propaganda with real questions such as, Gee Rep. MTG, if the election was rigged and stolen in GA, then you are not a legitimately elected Rep, right!?!

Great feedback , thanks. I so often have to go to wikiPedia to understand new words/who is who, used by the younger set, that it’s at our finger tips still amazes me. I remember having 6-7 encyclopedia books layed out at one time researching a paper!!!!,

My children/g.children are adept beyond amazement! They think Gramma needs a lot of help (I do)!

I have tried to discuss with the MTG/Gaetz/Jordan similes , their stances are in cement. I’m always willing to hear their point, even sometimes read or watch their sources..it doesn’t work the other way.

I’m not giving up, regardless. I think love wins over, O.F. ways prevail. They all come back periodically , love the farm, walks in the woods, and the wonders/goodies from the root cellar. I hope they’ll not forget such practice as they ( them all) may need to live that way again…someday.

Thanks for being a part of this community, we are definitely working hard for our Democracy.

Getting voters out of their chairs of complacency , is the key.

Without the military behind him, P011 has no chance. Shutdown will not help him there

It would make sense if at the right time the military issued a warning that organized violence will be met with force. Let them know what they will bring upon themselves. Might cool the ardor a bit. Only real crazies would persist, and those aren’t organized enough to do more than local damage.

But of course if the military itself is deeply compromised… a constant diet of Russian propaganda by Fox to servicemen, what has that done?

It remains to be seen how all of this will play out, and the urgency of stopping it in its tracks is clear. Also to be considered: my wife is life-long involved in human services work (now an independent consultant with expertise in systems thinking and communications framing); I am involved as retired clergy with more free time to work on anti-oppression, anti-racism, affordable housing, and some transformational coaching.

In both instances, should the worst come to pass (a' la the fascists of past and present), there will be masses of people who need protection (perhaps hiding or ex-patting), access to necessities (food, shelter, basic safety), and encouragement while at the same time trying to reverse the results of the fascist successes. Quite hard to contemplate, both intellectually and emotionally. More than an ounce of prevention is in order, and lots of pro-social strategic thinking and planning at the same time.

Mark, I agree with you completely. With a Biden win, the reaction from Trump and his militias now being called to arm themselves will make the attempted insurrection on January 6th, look like child’s play compared to what could lie ahead. The white race and the Republican cohort will soon be a minority in this country. It is exactly the types of condition that makes for an attempted coup for it is generally the threat of loss of power that causes a rebellion/revolution.

Trump is becoming an increasingly desperate man and we saw with the last election loss what lengths he would go, leading to an insurrection on short notice. With a year to plan for a potential attempt at a takeover of the government should he lose, we do not know what will occur. No one of consequence was prepared for an attempted insurrection after the last election. Win or lose, this points to the need for a significant change in our once proud democracy and on the economic system which has weakened it so by causing such an incredible wealth disparity which is truly at the root of our population’s unhappiness. This discontent makes the situation ripe for the rise of a populist autocratic leader. Should Trump be taken out of the candidacy due to legal convictions, there are others who would jump in to take advantage of the gains he has made to unmake democracy.

Sooner or later, we will need a radically new “operating system” to replace the old. I cast my vote with “Economic Democracy” that gets it power from decentralized local cooperatives and businesses and it is the local economic level that drives the political system and not the other way around.

You can search for “Economic Democracy” on the web or for a short article try: https://www.proutinstitute.org/policy-solutions/economic-democracy-the-alternative-to-corporate-rule

We must try to convert those who currently follow trump , “those without a prior history of militancy”, by explicitly showing them the personal liberties they will lose if a Fascist styled leader like trump is elected. Only by hitting them where they live will you make some ground in opening their eyes and minds.

Thank you. This is spot on. I chuckled recently when I saw an article about Trump's reasoning for attending UFC events being to court a demographic that has untapped voter potential (as if a lack of votes has ever stopped him). Perhaps he is/they are, but he is primarily there to court a crowd that he hopes will throw a punch on his behalf someday.

Positively chilling. As Trump's legal woes mount, the man's deranged threats increase.

The news last night of the summary judgment against Trump Org. provoked yet another vitriolic post claiming a 'widespread, radical attack against me, my family and my supporters.' According to Trump this is all a depraved attempt to deny him the 2024 election which he's winning handily. All the judges and prosecutors are deemed corrupt and politicized, all represent the radical left, Joe Biden is directing the assault and Letitia James is a racist.

That is certainly the brand repeated ad infinitum.

However, add this to the suggestion that Mark Milley should be executed and I think we can see where this is going--another call to arms, a wink, a nod to his supporters that something must be done: Save Your Leader.

The man is going to wind up getting people killed. Just as he did on January 6th.

The cold civil war is heating up and the pot stirrer is desperate.

Spot on, Ruth. The potential of violence is growing in this country. All protectors of Trump. I have never seen so many photos of him in the news, which I find utterly sickening. This is just what he wants, good or bad publicity. I hope at least some people who might be drawn to violence think twice about their potential actions and see the consequences of those who participated in the Jan. 6th coup. Yes, the coup continues. I'm sure many here feel as I do, that you are doing tremendous work, for which I'm very grateful. Thank you.

I was watching Chris Hayes last night but when I saw George Conway on, even if he is divorcing his wife who is part of the coup in one way or another (she said the women's march wasn't going to change anything - she knew years ago), I went to something else. But I undeleted the show when I heard Ruth was on and watched it. Conway sounded very sane and very grave and for the first time, I believed him. Since I've been able to read, "Strongmen" 2x now, I see enough of what's happening and where we're headed.

I think the perfect brand for rump is he's violence. Yes, the damn glock was inevitable. Wonder when he's going to 5th Ave. with one. I'll be watching from afar. Y'all take care.
