Those children who were taken from their parents at the border are a commodity. These "Christian adoption agencies" provide domestic slave labor for "elite"Christian families. Stephen Miller and Betsy DeVos need to fry for this!!😡😡

The connection between fascism and sadism has been seen since the days of Mussolini. tRump is continuing that tradition with his ongoing demonization of immigrants. He can't wait to punish them.

Domestic terrorism. Nothing more. We would be forced to watch that and then wonder who is next.

While Trumps threatens ("enemy within”?) Liz Cheney with a firing squad, the convicted fraudster/rapist & proud predator then says "whether the women like it or not, I'm going to protect them”... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IVjc-p4jt4

“Protect.” We can’t assume the usual definition of that word when tfg uses it.

For far too long our media has been sanewashing tRump. By not calling out his mental disorders, it's a de facto normalization of his sickness.

Is there anyone who can explain why law enforcement, judges, the news media didn’t bring this to front page knowledge and STOP IT? I did hear maybe a couple of times inference to such goings on but it was a scarce commentary and NO follow-ups. Given proper attention ever? Who are the guilty, are they not STILL?

Let's be clear. It will start with Latinos, but it will expand to include American citizens of every stripe--Jews, Asians, Muslims, Catholics, African-Americans, LGBTQ, etc. The Reich never runs out of enemies of the state. If you think that your whiteness or your gender will protect you, you are wrong. There is no get out of jail card with Trump.

This essay about the treatment of migrants, Ruth, reminds me of current reports about the torture of Palestinians in detention in Israel.

I live with Latinos. They make up about 85% of the population of my city. They are wonderful people, and they DO NOT deserve what trump did to them or wants to do to them. They are what makes our city great.

An important article titled "A Brief History of Trump's Violent Remarks / Here are 40 instances in which the former president incited or praised violence against his fellow citizens," written by Isabel Fattal and Stephanie Bai, was posted today by The Atlantic. Its impact is not only deeply disturbing, but conjures eerie echoes of 1930s Germany. Does anyone think America's would-be dictator doesn't mean all this?

Anyone who feels that tRump is less toxic than Ted Bundy, Jeffry Dahmer or John Gacy is living an illusion. In slang parlance, the guy is bat shit crazy.

The schizophrenia of the moment is constantly being exposed to the possibility of Trump's plans coming to fruition. He's in New Mexico telling his audience he's in front of them to show his cred with Latinos. That's it. He insults the Latino community more. It's what Dr. Bandy Lee has described as "spellbinding". It's as if he's cast a spell, and as he drones on the 'robots' he's created absorb his every word- even when they are on the end of insults, threats, and intimidation. To break the spell, PRO-DEMOCRACY AMERICANS flippin vote. I'm sorry, not for Jill Stein, not for Trump because you love the Kennedy name. He has surrounded himself by the worst, most vile people in America...people our parents, grandparents and role models taught us repeatedly to avoid.

I am working at the polls. Actually, I feel pretty hopeful. I've studied enough to now have a good sense of who is not under the spell. Don't believe the fear mongering of immigrants, Latinos, Black men....they are voting and they are same day registering. I can only say that a near 'centurian' and her family came to vote. I literally choked up as they lifted up what I guess was the matriarch of the family.

In NC, early voting ends on Saturday and you can still register to vote! Get to the polls and vote!

One more thing. I’ve been volunteering for the Coordinated Campaign since we thought Biden was the candidate. My husband and I finally took a 2 week vacation (bad timing, great trip) to London. I had Harris/Walz buttons on and everywhere I went residents and visitors from across Europe would ask me, “what the heck is going on?” in the US? I would text my colleagues with the campaign and joke that I was canvassing in London. Yesterday, a campaign staffer I’ve worked closely with called me and told me that a group of people from London arrived to canvas in Durham until the election!!!! I’m going to meet them today. You can still volunteer! It’s not too late!

Dear Dr. Ben Ghiat and colleagues. As I write this, there 500,000 residents of Latino heritage organizing in Central Florida, protesting the slurs that were directed against their community. This is a model for all interest groups - workers, women's right groups, environmental activists, peace activists, et. al. - to mobilize in the event of a Trump ascension to the Presidency, either legitimately or through malicious tactics. Be ready.

In Nazi Germany in 1943, the Nazis arrested scores of male citizens for various reasons, including suspicion of disloyalty to the Reich. Day after day, wives, lovers, mothers, sisters, and daughters of the arrestees rallied and protested against these arrests. They gathered much attention, made a lot of noise, and became a nuisance to the authorities. What was their weapon? The court of public opinion. They had the courage to face down the authorities, confronting death each day they gathered. After months of protest, the Nazi authorities released the prisoners rather than continue facing the protestors. This community is remembered in history as Rossenstrasse.

This is the lot in life that is most likely ahead for our community and other like gatherings. Frankly, I'm not looking forward to it. I would prefer easing into my later years taking it easy, whatever that means. However, I lost that option with many of you years ago when we chose to believe in such ideals as fair play, freedom, accountability, and social justice. Let the struggle commence and keep the faith.
