Posted these cult resources to the Lucid Facebook ⬇

Been watching Leah Remini's *Scientology and the Aftermath* and learned about Hana Whitfield, No. 2 member of the "Sea Org" who got out after 20 years.

She started doing deprogramming, but moved eventually to "Thought Reform Consultation"

She has a Thought Reform practice and helped found the International Cultic Studies Assoc., that looks like it has good resources

I just finished the late Tony Judt's brilliant "Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945". I wanted to learn initially, more about the immediate post war period, but as the 60's and 70's came and went, the Soviet Union collapsed and the European Union was created (all events I can remember in my own lifetime) I became more and more engrossed in the story. The books ends in 2005 and concludes with two final chapters on the importance- a fundamental historic centrality- of each country in the new Europe (east and west) coming to terms with the Holocaust. By fits and starts, it's not a pretty tale. And now, here today Grzegorz Kwiatkowski with his confederates are going head to head with this same reckoning. Insert History not even being History Faulkner quote here.

As a genXer, my coming of age was '79 in the San Francisco era of emerging punk & underground art scene. Three decades have passed since then. Growing up with Reagan as Gov then Pres., I have had this kind of gloom over everything as I watched things spiral to where we are now. And now includes the pandemic & climate crisis especially in Northern California where I live "in the boonies".

I haven't been listening to any new music for a very long time. Sometimes, in nostalgia & angst, I think or even listen to stuff i was into back then.

This interview has intrigued me for the 1st time in a long time to be open to listening to something new. I need some light & acknowledgement of the real darkness of the uncertainty & the grifters & venal power grabbers steering us off a point of no return.

So happy to read, Kathologist, that you are feeling open to hearing new music …. there is SOOOOO much good music being created by SOOOOO many incredibly talented and insightful artists …. I’m predicting a wonderful journey of musical exploration for you …. signed: an old guy (68) emerging the last 7 years from a 45 year old Beatles/Stones cocoon

I found a bunch of wonderful CDs in Eastern Europe during travels/work there, so it's a good place to investigate new sounds and voices. Lots of bands can be found on streaming music services, although not enough!

Thanks for introducing us to another interesting person doing good things. Can't wait to listen to his music. And thanks for covering Transatlantic issues. Despite our struggles in the US right now, it's important to keep our eyes on places like Poland and others that are also struggling with their history and threats to freedom of the press, etc.

What does MDDOS mean, please? Cannot find it anywhere.

My daily dose of sanity, Ruth and others with their wisdom writings and words have helped to sustain my spirits during these precarious often perilous days. Helping me to remain grounded in the fight against it. So I coined my own hashtag MDDOS, I have the artist poet in me also, getting creative can and is also a form of rebelious rebellion/coping mechanism also. The arts which they also love to destroy will save us all. No hidden meaning just a thank you to Ruth and others. Feel free to use it also if you like

Thanks, Marilyn! I've seen you use it before and wasn't sure what it meant. I agree, a DDOS is crucial. Check out Heather Cox Richardson's Substack newsletter, Letters from an American, she also provides the dose. Hooray for historians! And artists.
