Sorry but my mind went immediately to Hermann Goring when talking about Hegseth and engineered incompetence. At least Goring was a pilot. I can see that 47 thinks he is the smartest guy in the room. After all, he feels it in his bones. But daily IMO he proves otherwise.

Great conversation--thanks to you both. Your perspective, Rep. Crow reminds me we need to be grounded to eye-open reality of what this regime has unleashed--now and especially in the future.

Every single day I am enraged that the Republicans in Congress approved every one of the sycophants in the Cabinet--none of whom are qualified and all of whom have collectively compromised us: economically, medically and socially. It really makes me wonder what their motivation was--to abandon their Oath and our Country so completely.

This illegal "excursion" is not going to end well. Egomaniac, low IQ, felon tRump craves hero worshipping for himself and, for him, troops are expendable to that end. What he thought was going to be an expeditious Venezuelan decapitation and destruction of weapon systems military exercise, has backfired because he underestimated Iran's response. The Strait of Hormuz is their secret weapon, easily guarded by the coastal mountain ranges from which Iran can defend. Murdering almost an entire family, no matter how detestable, does not set well with public sentiment, especially during the middle of 'peace' talks. Iran is now more united than ever and set out for revenge. Felon tRump can pummel them all he wants with the thousands of troops he has now deployed waiting to risk their lives for his war of choice. While he engages in a kinetic war, Iran engages in an even more lethal tactic...economic warfare that has disastrous global consequences. All this for a "only I can fix it" wanna be dictator, adored by the world.

❇️ “Here are three stories about the state of gambling in America.

1. Baseball. In November 2025, two pitchers for the Cleveland Guardians, Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz, were charged in a conspiracy for “rigging pitches.”

2. Bombs. On the morning of February 28th, someone logged onto the prediction market website Polymarket and made an unusually large bet. This bet wasn’t placed on a baseball game. It wasn’t placed on any sport. This was a bet that the United States would bomb Iran on a specific day, despite extremely low odds of such a thing happening.

3. Bombs, again. Put it all together: rigged pitches, rigged war bets, and attempts to rig wartime journalism.

What’s remarkable is not just the fact that online sports books have taken over sports, or that betting markets have metastasized in politics and culture, but the speed with which both have taken place.

❇️ As this moral vocabulary scales across culture, it also corrodes culture. In sports, when you have money on a game, you’re not rooting for a team. You’re rooting for a proposition. The social function of fandom—shared identity, inherited loyalty, something larger than yourself—dissolves into individual risk.”

“A Law Without Enforcement is a Strongly Worded Letter.

There are an awful lot of press conferences and meetings and civil suits that often take years to sort out, and may then be tossed by SCOTUS or ignored by the regime.

Channeling the Anti-Vietnam War movement's mantra: "Hey, Hey, Donnie J., how many people did you kill today?"

On the eve of the largest expected mass political protest in American history, let me suggest watching -- and passing along -- the following multiple award-winning documentary film (available on YouTube) about the world's foremost expert and strategist on nonviolence action and resistance, Dr. Gene Sharp, and several examples of practical nonviolent uprisings and revolutions around the world over the last 25 years:

tRump has to maintain the omnipotent self image that he has built for himself. If he were to believe that he was not omnipotent, he would have narcissistic collapse and his fantasy would come crashing down. He lives inside of a grandiose, delusional, sociopathic bubble. Those surrounding him are put there to reinforce his delusions.

He has the fascist leader mindset of belligerence, omnipotence, violence and war.
