I had a great Substack Live conversation yesterday with Joyce Vance to celebrate the third anniversary of her wonderful Civil Discourse newsletter. We talked about the ICE raids, the outsized response of the Trump administration to the protests (authoritarians cannot abide people showing solidarity with state enemies), and Fascism as a “revolution of reaction.” This was Mussolini’s definition, but it is a good description of subsequent right-wing authoritarian governments, including the Trump administration).
