Netflix's "Tyrants" & Today's Q&A, 1-2pmET: Log-in Info

I’d like to discuss uses of history at times of authoritarian ascent, the creation of martyrs, and return to the idea of patriotism as a mobilizing force. And anything you want to speak about of course.

Note: “How to Become a Tyrant,” a Netflix Original Series, starts tonight, narrated by Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones. It combines interviews, archival footage, and animation. . The producers tell me I am in 3 of the episodes (Hitler, Stalin, and Gaddafi). I also appear in the trailer: https://www.netflix.com/title/80989772. My interview was taped at a studio in Brooklyn, and they filmed quite close-up, to have a conversational style, but with a bare-bones aesthetic.

I’ll be glad to talk about being in historical documentaries if anyone is interested. The main thing is they take a long time to make, sometimes years, so by the time they come out you have little memory of what you said!
