The insufficiencies of Democratic messaging have been a recurrent theme at our Zoom discussions. So I’ve invited Democratic strategist Rachel Bitecofer to join us for the second half of today’s discussion. Rachel is co-founder and chief strategist of Strike PAC, which aims to modernize Democratic election messaging and address the Republican threat to democracy head-on. Rachel is a political scientist and author of the 2017 book The Unprecedented 2016 Presidential Election.
You can read our conversation about the the need for hard-hitting Democratic messaging and a '“war machine” to strike back at the Republican propaganda apparatus here.
Every Friday I include a photo to set the tone. Today’s image, which was submitted by a Lucid subscriber, is an inviting scene from the Willamette Valley, Oregon. I feel more relaxed just looking at it.
Introduced to both Rachel and Ruth years ago on Pete Dominick’s STANDUP WITH PETE DOMINICK podcast (or was it on his previous show on SiriusXM?) …. Pete’s daily encouragement is “be the change you want to see” …. Probably fair to say, Rachel and Ruth gave him tools and inspiration to take part in last week’s successful election to his local school board of two good people, instead of the Trumpy right wing nuts initially favored in his very “red” community in New York
An excellent photo for a relaxing Friday as well as a necessary discussion!
