What second term? Trump claims he won both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. So, he is disqualified from running again per the 22nd Amendment: "No person shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice."

Interesting. Question: should we do away with all executive pardons ? Both State and Federal ? Should we just trust our laws ? Pardons have been used as political footballs for a long time. We have seen many pardons that shouldn’t have been. On the other side, should a person rot in prison for stealing 20$ in groceries when they were 17 yo: and “happen” to be Black ?

CommonDreams.org is working on the angle of keeping folks from office who have taken an oath to the Constitution, and then engaged in treasonous behavior, or insurrection. This goal is based on the 14th amendment, section 3.

In my humble opinion, anyone who served in the military, or government, and was at the insurrection, should be charged accordingly. If in wartime, personally, I would apply wartime consequences for traitors. And, I would not lose any sleep over it.

No clear answers to this weeks post. Only questions. Thanks Ruth.
