It's time for people to start growing their own food. During WWII 40% of food was grown in Victory Gardens. We can do that again. Many of the crops grown as part of the industrial agriculture system are not for feeding people. We need more farms that do not need chemical fertilizers which tend to degrade the soil. It's time to rethink how and where we grow food.
My next door neighbor comes from a farm family in northern Germany that participates in a dairy cooperative, which is where we get our dairy products. I do have a garden, but also go to a farmers market which is held in the city center each day until around 2 pm, Monday-Saturday. However, we have been discussing growing more of our own food.
The European reaction to the Trump caused energy crisis is to look to renewable energy sources. We are already having our home powered in that way, and we walk, bike and use public to get around, and are trying to reduce our waste, and use of plastics. So, many things to do to live a better life.

This translates into their political stance as well, with those outside of their clan being subject to his wrath. Those not kissing his ring are seen as traitors, which reflects his demigod self-image and his dominance/submission mindset. If you refuse to submit, then you are in trouble. Norah O'Donnell's interview of him on "60 Minutes" showed her refusal to submit to his dominance; resulting in his subsequent attack on her. He is just so incredibly fragile......... and dangerous!

Call your senators today through the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell them you want algorithmic transparency legislation and Section 230 reform. Make sure your voter registration is current at vote.org, check on your state-level legislators at openstates.org, and start telling everyone you know that science has now proven that the 2024 election wasn’t a free and fair contest of ideas
Also contact your state rep/state senator to introduce a trigger law and have it in place before the 2026 midterm election: if the federal government interferes with the election, the state will redirect federal taxes to an escrow account

In reference to your discussion at the end of this excellent talk with Mary Trump, I think calling the current debacle with the country of Iran “poorly planned”, is a great disservice and sort of makes it sound like some misstep in statecraft, instead of the repulsive and grotesque war crime it actually is.

As someone well aware of the concept of "cumulative effects", I really appreciated the way you spoke about the multiple ways in both time and space that the impacts from the regime have been, and will be, experienced in detrimental ways by all of us, but certainly some more (sooner) than others. Most recently, that started on Day 1 of trump 2.0.
While this is absolutely unfortunate, I think it also provides an opportunity to integrate more people among us as we fight to hold our democracy. Simply put, for many people, for many reasons, they don't see the problem(s) until they're affected personally. It may be direct or indirect, but SOMETHING makes them see and care about things that others have resisted even though they weren't personally affected.
More generally, I appreciate the way the two of you combined your respective expertise and personal experience to explain and predict this horrible situation we're in. As bad as it is, your perspectives shine some light on how, working together, we can break free of of this regime and continue our work, much better informed, on the path to a 'more perfect Union'.
Recently the SSA removed $200 from low-income individuals signed up for Medicaid for not completing their annual renewal paperwork on time.
They removed the funds from Social Security accounts without notification th recipients of Social Security, held this money for five days before paying Medicare Part B Insurance Premiums. Then mailed these letters after their transactions were complete. How many falsely dated letters did they mail out? How much money was withdrawn from the very large bank balance of the Social Security? Do these dollar figures match up? Is this another transaction where the amount of money taken from the United States Treasury is larger than the the expense of a project? More fraudulent transactions?
The way these transactions were done in the dark and a large amount of money was held for five days makes me question the secrecy of their actions. How many falsely dated letters did they mail? How much money was withdrawn from Social Security? Do the dollar figures match up with the number of individuals? Is this a siphoning of money from the very large account balance of Social Security?
Their falsely dated letter and its crude cut and paste shuffling of paragraphs appears as purposeful “stick” done for distraction from their illegal activities.
There are starting to be more reports in Newspapers-WAPO, NYT, MN Star Tribune (has many) on Economic Effects of Immigration Policies, Tariff's, etc on small businesses. Senators, House Rep's & Governors are asking that people send their personal stories of how they are being effected so they can use them for accountability.
