As Ukrainian drone strikes continue to pummel Russian oil and gas infrastructure deeper and deeper into Russian territory it's clear that Putin's economy under this attack is gradually collapsing Putin is becoming more and more paranoid and hunkered down in his bunker while there are schisms happening within his corrupt government And with its May 7 military parade no vehicles or armaments are set for the celebration parade and men are being pulled off the Ukrainian front lines to participate in the parade
The war events are happening fast and it is now apparent that Putin's regime cannot sustain nearly 1.5m casualties, untold loss of military armaments, weather economic sanctions without consequences that imperil his oligarchic dictatorship The end is coming clearer into focus as Putin considers how to capitulate
Meanwhile Putin's main ally Cheeto took a bet on the Russian authoritarian state and it's not looking good for the orange demented one He lost an ally in Orban who lost his re-election last month, will lose the fascist Zionist Netanyahu based on public opinion, and in the near future will lose his favorite Russian counterpart But one thing WE the People can count on, Cheeto will perversely double down until the electorate renders him impotent with the 2026 midterms

Thanks for the informative and unsettling post. As I read, it occurred to me that we (US citizens) view warfare from afar. I wonder how the changes in methodology may bring war closer to home, especially as our national political system’s incompetence is increasingly broadcast worldwide.
I suggest people read the Substack of Jason Smart who gives a daily podcast/video often live from Kyiv. He is American and speaks Ukrainian and Russian. He was barred from Russia and gives a thorough analysis of what is happening at great risk.
Two other reliable aggregations of daily war news from Ukraine are the YouTube channels of Denys Davydov and ATP Geopolitics. Both are pro-Ukrraine, but report both good and bad news. Each uses both Ukrainian and Russian sources. In fact, Denys is a native Russian speaking Ukrainian.
I found this piece really helped to understand how the war in Ukraine fits in developments in modern warfare. I viewed a very disturbing video in The Times of a vendor in Ukraine being pursued by a drone. They are going after individual citizens in what is a reign of terror by machine. Fortunately, the vendor survived the explosion.
I’m amazed that such a small and relatively poor country has been transformed into a technological powerhouse, being able not to defend itself against Putin’s army, but also able to bring the war to his footsteps. What I don’t get is Donny’s refusal to recognize and admire David’s courage against the mighty Goliath. For whatever reason, Donny is barking up the wrong tree. Putin is a loser, and so is Donny! The future of warfare is on display for all of us to see: cheap and effective technology is winning against old fashioned, expensive tanks.
It has been seeming that Ukraine has a better strategy than Russia. Putin's is to do everything possible to demoralize the Ukrainian people, and while he is making them miserable, they are still clear they they are fighting for their very existence. Ukraine is going after the things that allow Russia to conduct the war. Will the new North Koreans also be killed as quickly as the last ones? Jung Un and Putin do not care. They are fodder to prolong the war. Meanwhile Ukraine needs to keep targeting all that makes the war possible for Russia. That is munitions, money, supplies, infrastructure, and soldiers.
A correction must be made here. Israel is NOT an authoritarian state (despite the admitted corruption of Netanyahu). "Ethnic cleansing" is NOT what's happening in Gaza, neither is "cultural annihilation." Ms. Ben-Ghiat & company surely know better! October 7, 2023 was an existential threat to Israel—that single day saw the brutal massacre of civilians within sovereign Israeli territory—including mutilations, rapes, mass kidnappings, & other crimes against humanity—shout out to legend Boy George for acknowledging this—at a cost to his career. It's well known that HAMAS terrorists embed themselves within civilian homes, hospitals, schools, & UN facilities—which makes it impossible not to unintentionally kill Palestinian civilians. HAMAS also notoriously murders Palestinians—who may be suspected of working against terrorists—or who simply are taken to be homosexuals. I could go on and on. Putin and Russia are godawful. Israel is an ally of the U.S. against extremist jihadi terrorists (mostly funded by Iran).

Why should we trust anything coming out of Ratcliffe's mouth especially regarding stats of how long a Russian soldier lasts on the killing fields or anything else? I don't trust statistics coming out of BLS, the CIA, FBI or any other place in this regime. It's a goal to push lies and it works for me.
