I agree wholeheartedly with the substack. But the Moser downloads are poorly edited and much less evocative than the soundtrack that accompanies them. Maybe the film as a whole is useful but I couldn't really tell from the downloadable clips. Stick with Ruth.
The film is building modular and gradually, so individual scenes unfortunately can't really represent the whole piece as they lack the context. But trust me (and Ruth) that it's worth it.
WAIT A SECOND.....WE SCREAM about all the great injustices we have survived, but forget the biggest and FIRST reason - WE ARE BROKE!....and have been broke for 50 years!!!! We are still living in a post WWII standard of living and doing it on BORROWED MONEY - DEBT. We have to sell billions of dollars in bonds and T-Bills to cover our debt, and that market is getting thinner and thinner. That market has been reduced to mostly short-term T-Bills. Billionaires have been moving their money out of America and offshore. We don't produce enough income to pay our debts, so we borrow it. We are broke, and no politician and few economists will recognize it publicly. THAT IS THE REASON THE DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN FOR AN AUTOCRAT TO WALK THROUGH!!!
It's also the reason why gold has gone through the roof. Internationally, the dollar is seen as weak and possibly failing as a standard currency for commodity pricing.
I disagree with old Marcus, or anyone who says such a thing, even if Aristotle or Plato said it, and they didn't since they acknowledged truths. Having thought about it a lot over the last ten years, the crucial point of departure seemed in my mind to be when Kellyanne Conway said of trump's first inauguration that there were "alternative facts". I believe that was specifically in reference to the size of the crowd attending that inauguration.
I was so incensed at her statement because even then it seemed to me to be the setup for what was to come. (At that time, I had no idea what was to come!) I remember feeling like there should have been strong pushback right away on her statement. And it would have been a relatively easy one to correct--at least within a reasonable margin.
I think I'll forever feel like that was the beginning of the end--or the end of the beginning since the lies have never stopped since then for this regime. That said, I have to wonder what impact this very moment in history might have in that trajectory as it seems we're at another inflection point. I'm hopeful but not optimistic the narrative starts to align more and more with the truth. Whether if will be enough to help stitch us back together remains to be seen...
